Kaimenyi and Kivilu will be responsible if exams lose credibility

Education Cabinet Secretary Joseph Kaimenyi and his namesake KNEC Boss Joseph Kivilu should stop lying to Kenyans that there is no exam fraud despite evidence of cheating everywhere for whoever cares to see.

For the two to continue lying to Kenyans like this it means they are either too blind to see or have chosen to be too ignorant. KCSE exam papers are all over, which evidence is Kaimenyi still waiting for to prove that cheating is going on.

It is shameful that instead of opening an enquiry into the fraud claims, the CS is quick to dismiss the cheating claims saying that they are mere media reports. It doesn’t require a statistician to prove there is cheating.

Leaders should learn to take responsibility whenever issues of national concern are raised, it is a future of this nation we are talking about, therefore Kaimenyi should stop apportioning blame to the media while we all know KNEC should held accountable.

If anything, these exams should be stopped forthwith and fresh papers provided in the next 90 days if we really care about the quality of education that is not too much to ask.

It is our sincere hope that HELB and the Joint Admissions Board are well prepared for increased intake at stake, there is a possibility all these candidates will earn direct entry points so let them be ready, there should be no blame games when such time comes.
