NAIROBI, Kenya: Kenya Premier League champions Gor Mahia are considering of dropping Ugandan defender Augustine Walusimbi from its 2015 squad, it has emerged. After weeks of speculation that the left back had fallen out of favor with Coach Frank Nuttal, it is now becoming clear that the coach might vindicate the rumor mongers.

The coach has openly said Gor Mahia should not sign average foreigners claiming that the caliber of Walusimbi’s ‘can be found locally.’ The left back position especially is well taken care of by the signing of Rwandan Abouba Sibomana adding to the presence of Musa Mohammed, Godfrey Walusimbi and Kevin Oluoch all who have played there.

To further draw the young Ugandan closer to the airport is this week’s arrival of Rwandan Meddie Kagere whose signing, if it goes through, will bring the total number of foreigners at the club to eight – one above the recommended seven.

This was confirmed by Gor Mahia Assistant Secretary General Ronald Ngala “If we manage to sign Meddie then we’ll have to sacrifice one of the foreigners.”

Gor Mahia have the foreign services of Khalid Aucho (Ug), Abouba Sibomana (Rwanda), Karim Nizigiyimana (Burundi), Glay Dirkir (Liberia), Zachary Toufiq (Ghana), Godfrey Walusimbi (Ug), Augustine Walusimbi (Ug) as well as the prospective Meddie Kagere from Rwanda.
