The Junior Golf Foundation (JGF) wishes to launch a flagship programme in 2015 to promote the game among young players around the country including underprivileged communities.

The inaugural fundraiser to this end will be held at the Muthaiga Golf Club today at Sh2,500 per person

This will launch the foundation’s fundraising drive entailing five consequent events throughout 2015 across Kenya at Royal Nairobi, Karen Country Club, Sigona Golf Club, Nyali Golf Club and Nakuru Golf Club. The tournament has received sponsorship from Eaton Electric, Intra Africa Insurance and Oshwal Chemical.

Others are BTB Insurance, Tononoka, Optica, Prime Bank, Radip Communication, DMC, Atua Enkop, Air Kenya, Ashnil, Zen Garden, Slumberland, Hemingsway, Fly 540, Konica, Giro Bank, Travel Affairs, Ganatra-JCB, Sigona Golf Club, Windsor Golf and Country Club, Adlephi Leather, Ole Sereni and Ganatra-JCB Ltd.

The drive is to help raise awareness of the challenges the foundation faces and how sponsors can uplift the standards of golf in Kenya and help it climb the ladder of excellence to compete with the world’s best.

This will ultimately manifest in producing our very own ‘Simba’ on an international golfing circuit.

The Junior Golf Foundation is open to all sponsors and supporters and has therefore tailored packages to suit those who opt to help raise the foundation and sport to its full potential. The packages range from Sh5,000,000 to Sh50,000 for the funding of specialised equipment, and coaching of golfers at young ages.

Meanwhile, Robert Njoroge and Sam Onyambu won the Crown Teflon 4 Ball better Ball final at Muthaiga last weekend.
