Kenya Breweries Limited supports vetting of alcoholic drinks makers

Kenya Breweries Limited (KBL) has supported the Government’s initiative to vet all alcoholic drinks.

The action being pushed by the Ministry of Interior comes against the background of rising death toll from illicit brews, which have so far claimed several lives in Nairobi, Embu, Kiambu, Makueni, Kitui, Machakos, Nakuru and Murang’a counties. KBL Managing Director Joe Muganda said that as a responsible company and a manufacturer of “safe, quality and standardised alcoholic beverages in Kenya”, the firm fully supports the move to vet all alcohol manufacturers in a bid to safeguard the health and safety of consumers.
