Top student to get university scholarship

Samburu, Kenya: Top performers in the 2013 KCSE examinations have a reason to smile after the county government promised to reward them.

The county government has offered the top performers, with mean grades of A plain and A minus full university scholarships, as well as paid internships as they wait to join universities.

However, only one candidate will benefit from this initiative. The county had one student, Jackson Letoluai, 17, from Good Shepherd Minor Seminary School with a mean grade of A minus.

Governor Moses Lenolkulal also said his government would give bursaries to needy but bright students. Speaking after leading students in a one-kilometre walk to celebrate the good results, Mr Lenolkulal promised full scholarship to those who will pursue courses in medicine.
