NAIROBI, KENYA: Indeed it was a great achievement for Gor Mahia FC to win the 2013 Kenyan Premier League title after 18 years.
Since they were declared champions few weeks ago, Gor Mahia have been receiving congratulatory messages and invites from all corners of the world and the latest big word has just landed from the world football President Sepp Blatter, in Zurich- Switzerland.
In a letter sent through Football Kenya Federation, Blatter asked the federation chairman Sam Nyamweya to convey his good message to champions.
"Please pass my warm congratulation to Gor Mahia for winning their first championship in 18 years and their 13th in total," said part of the letter.
The president went ahead to acknowledge the good work by players, the technical bench and the big role of Gor Mahia fans within football circles in Kenya.
"Convey my warmest wishes to all the players, the manager and the technical and medical staff and all the team's supporters. Each part of this organisation has no doubt been instrumental in their club victory. On behalf of the World football community, I would like to thank Gor Mahia for the excitement they bring to fans of the beautiful game and wish them the best for their forthcoming CAF campaign," the letter concluded.
