Sacked Kirinyaga County administration official says boss is sex pest

By MUNENE KAMAU

The secretary of a senior provincial administration official in Kirinyaga County has been kicked out of office after she allegedly turned down sexual advances from her boss.

The victim is now urging the police and human rights organisations to come to her rescue.

Her husband (name withheld), while confirming the claims to The Standard, said the said administrator started making advances on the woman every time she was called to the office until she told him off.

“When she resisted, the sex pest threatened to kick her out of the office and he did exactly that two weeks ago,” said the husband.

The husband of the victim reported the matter to a senior official in Harambee House in Nairobi but was referred to the acting Central Regional Commissioner Michael Mwangi.

Denied claims

The official denied the allegations when we reached him on phone.

“I have actually said I do not need her as my secretary and in any event, when our offices were created there was no provision for this cadre of employees,” he said.
