Sarova Stanley’s signature Thai restaurant, Thai Chi, has been awarded the prestigious Thai Select Signature Certificate by Thailand’s Minister of Commerce.

Thai Select is a mark of certification awarded to guarantee the authentic Thai taste of Thai food products.

The award is the highest of the three Thai Select tiers of certification and is a recognition of the authenticity of Thai restaurants worldwide.

The certificate was conferred by the Royal Thai Ambassador to Kenya, Ms Sasirit Tangulrat, to the hotel management.

Speaking after receiving the award, Sarova Hotels and Lodges (Kenya) Managing Director Jimi Kariuki said they felt honoured.

“It is a great privilege to have our restaurant included in the select group of Thai restaurants worldwide that have been officially recognised by the Thai Department of International Trade Promotion as being authentically Thai. This is the second time Thai Chi has received this recognition,” Mr Kariuki said. He added that the recognition is a great motivator to the restaurant’s team.

“It will support our marketing and communication efforts aimed at continuing to raise the profile of the restaurant.” The restaurant was opened in 2006.
