According to Nyandarua North sub-county police boss Timon Odingo, the school administration alerted the police who rushed to the scene and effected the arrest.

"The student had been punished for his action before he assaulted the teacher. He was rescued by his colleagues," he said.

Odingo said the 20-year-old student has since been locked up at Ndaragwa Police Station awaiting to be arraigned in court.

"We will charge him with assault. We will not allow this trend to continue" he said.
