Six people were yesterday arraigned in a Nyahururu court for faulting the new potato law. The six were arrested along the Nyeri-Nyahururu Road on Thursday night where they were transporting some 750 bags of the produce to Nairobi.
Appearing before Nyahururu resident magistrate Alice Mukanga, they were charged with the offence of contravening the provisions of section 42 of Agricultural Fisheries and Food Authority Act that stipulates that the produce should not be packed in bags exceeding 50kg.
