'Miracle baby' survives 11-storey fall from apartment block after falling through balcony railings

Musa Dayib is expected to fully recover from his two broken arms and fractured back following the fall

A 15-month-old baby has had a miraculous escape after he survived an 11-storey fall from a balcony.

Doctors are putting the Musa Dayib's luck down to landing on a soft patch of land and his young age with one describing it as 'a real gift from God'.

The boy fell through railings on the apartment block in the U.S. state of Minnesota and suffered two arm fractures.

He is also on a ventilator to help with his breathing but he is expected to live.

Dr Tina Slusher told the Star Tribune : "If you and I fell that far, we would be dead.

"He's a baby and he happened to land on a very small patch of mulchy area. He's a kid so they tend to be more flexible and plable than you and I would be.

"Having said that, it's a real gift from God that he made it because this is a huge fall."

Dr Slusher said that his parents were devastated at what had happened.

The child's mother was not at home at the time of the accident and his father was in another room.

It is believed that the couple's other daughter opened the door to the balcony which was when Musa went outside.

Musa is expected to make a full recovery.
