Low cost housing

Where to stay
Low cost housing in the form of steel blocks looks set to take root in the country judging by reception of one project in Mombasa. The concept delivers a 2 bedroom house at about 1.5 million shillings, seen as significantly cheaper than going prices for a similar house made of concrete blocks that could be anything above 6 million shillings. KTN’s Zawadi Mudibo looks at this concept that unfortunately allows the landlord to disassemble a house and take off with the steel blocks should a buyer default on payment.
