Central bank Governor Njuguna Ndung’u can now breathe easy.  The CBK boss this afternoon survived parliamentary censure after MPs voted to delete his name from a report that had blamed him for the fall of the shilling. The drama in parliament came on the third day of debate on the report of the house committee that investigated the sharp fall of the shilling. Forty six MPs voted to delete Professor Ndung’u’s name from the contentious report while thirty seven others supported the report in its entirety. Key opposition figures Boni Khalwale and Chris Okemo who have previously supported the report made an abrupt about-turn to vote for the removal of Ndungu’s name from the report. KTN’s senior reporter Aaron Ochieng’ has the details.
