Members of parliament are threatening to shut down the government operations over what they term as betrayal by the executive on taxation of their allowances. During an informal meeting of parliament, popularly referred to as the speakers kamukunji, mps threatened to shoot down the finance bill anc cut off government funding. Mps also vowed not to comply with a 30-day ultimatum by the kenya revenue authority requiring that they clear their tax arrears by the end of this month.
