Three roads to remain closed for three days to accord Kenyans a chance to view Mzee Moi’s body

Inspector-General of Police Hillary Mutyambai on Saturday, February 8, 2020, issued a statement on the management of traffic in and around the Nairobi CBD during the late Mzee Daniel Moi’s memorial service and interment. 

The service is set to take place on Tuesday, February 11, 2020, at Nyayo Stadium in an interdenominational service before the body is transported to his Kabarak home for burial on Wednesday.

Three roads will be closed from today (Saturday, February 8, 2020) to Monday, February 10, 2020.

According to a statement by the National Police Service, Parliament Road, Harambee Avenue and City Hall Road will remain closed for three days.

“Parliament Rd, Harambee Av & City Hall Rd will be closed from SAT 8TH to MON 10TH FEB to accord Kenyans the opportunity to participate in the public viewing and paying last respects to the Former Head of State whose body shall be Lying-in-State in Parliament,” read the statement.
