Senior officer refuses to report to new station

A deputy County Commissioner in Siaya County has refused to report to his new station one month after getting his transfer letter.

The administrator, who is said to be reluctant to leave his current station, has been accused of bullying assistant County Commissioners and chiefs when handling state functions.

The man has been accused of refusing to facilitate his juniors in discharging their duties in what has slowed down government operations in the county.

"Whenever we have national functions, he refuses to send us vehicles and we are always forced to use boda boda," an assistant County Commissioner told The Grapevine.

Sources have whispered that the man was transferred for allegedly influencing the award of over Sh10 million renovation project.

The tender at the sub-county's headquarters was reportedly awarded to his wife.

Fresh details indicate that the man could have bribed a senior officer in a tune of SH100, 000.

Can Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi act on this matter to save the junior officers from further bullying?
