Why section of Thika road will be closed for three months

A section of the Thika Super Highway will be closed for three months to pave way for construction works.

According to a statement seen by Ureport, Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) said the overpass at GSU Headquarters will be closed from April 22, 2019, to July 18, 2019.

The construction works are set to improve the junction between Thika Super Highway and Outer Ring Road.

Thika bound traffic from Outer Ring will use the right hand side service road of Thika Highway and turn right at the Survey underpass.

Airport-bound traffic from Nairobi CBD through Outer Ring will proceed using the left-hand side service road of Thika Highway up to the Garden City overpass and turn right to access Outer Ring.

KURA apologized for the inconveniences caused and provided a traffic diversion plan to all road users.
