Dusit terror attack proves a lot about Kenyans

The current trending story on the terrorist attack on the Dusit Complex along the 14 Riverside Drive paints a complete opposite picture of the political situation that had engulfed the country for the better part of last week to early this week. 

From the weak-links that emerged in the Jubilee administration and the resignation of Jubilee vice chairman David Murathe who over the years has reportedly been considered President Uhuru’s mouth piece to the tensions that gathered in the Kamba land as the area governors gathered against one Kalonzo Musyoka in an effort to determine who calls the shorts on the politics of Kamba land. 

The terror attack did not only expose how much Kenyans care for each other but also how patriotic we are. With the hashtag #WEAREUNBOWED, Kenyans expressed their solidarity and several people denied themselves sleep and stayed awake long hours to encourage and mentally and emotionally support the families whose members were caught up in the incident. 

It's also noteworthy to state the call by the rescue agencies - The Aga Khan Hospital and the Kenya Red Cross society to have people donate blood was heeded to quickly. 

It's also encouraging to note that the soldiers who responded to their call of duty respond with much eagerness to rescue their friends. Some of the soldiers even appeared dressed in flip lops!! 

Stories of staff at Aga Hospital staff being recalled from holiday and responding quickly is a one of its kind. 

In a nutshell, the gestures from every corners, including #Kot were amazing. Help was not given based on any tribal lines. Why remind me of my ethnic or rather tribal origin? 

May we stand strong and #WEAREUNBOWED and flash out this tribal menace.!
