Kenyans can’t help but mock Sonko’s plan to take hawkers and matatu drivers for benchmarking in Rwanda

Nairobi County Governor Mike Sonko wants to take 300 hawkers, matatu and bodaboda operators to Rwanda for a benchmarking exercise. This is meant to educate them on how they can manage their businesses more efficiently. According to Peter Mbaya, the Director of City Inspectorate, the county wants to restore order in the way businesses are managed. “There are plans to take 300 small-scale traders. Boda-boda and matatu operators to Rwanda for benchmarking, and to appreciate that there are better ways of managing their businesses,” said Mbaya. Kenyans left nothing to chance upon hearing the news, some ridiculing the move while some just not sure it’s needed.
