Senators Amos Wako, Fatuma Dullo drum support for Sang's gubernatorial bid in Nandi

Nandi County Senator Stephen Arap Sang on Monday received a major boost in his gubernatorial bid following a move by Senators Amos Wako and Fatuma Dullo to ask Nando residents to back his bid.

The senators who are members od the Senate community had attended a public hearing at Kapsisiywa to receive submissions from members of the Talai community over historical injustices but on the way back they made stopovers at Chepterit and Mosoriot centers to drum support for Mr. Sang.

Jubilee nominated Senator Fatuma Dullo said while at the Senate, Sang had performed with distinction and urged Nandi residents to vote him as the Nandi Governor.

"At the Senate and across the country Sang is recognized as the best performing Senator and I want to ask you to give him another term but this time as your governor," said Dullo

On his part, Senator Wako also endorsed Sang's bid saying through his exemplary performance at the senate he has proven that he deserves promotion to the gubernatorial seat.

"Sang has been my Vice Chair in the legal affairs committee and having been in politics for long I have given him a few lessons on politics and I can confidently say he is ready for the top county job," said Wako.

Wako said Nandi residents should be proud to have produced a young brilliant Senator and narrated how Sang had paved way for him to be the chair of the powerful legal affairs committee despite having an upper hand to be voted in.

The former Attorney General had earlier donated Kshs 331,000 towards the completion of Kapsisywa Catholic Church saying the donation was in honor of Senator Sang who has worked hard as his deputy in his committee.

Senator Sang is eyeing the gubernatorial seat currently held by incumbent Governor Dr. Cleophas Lagat.

The race has since shaped up into a political rematch between him and Former Industrialization Minister Henry Kosgey.
