The ongoing strikes that have prevailed in the country have now started to become a terrible menace to the society, the latest being the lecturers of public universities who have downed their tools of work.

The immediate casualties being the students who are now sitting idle waiting in hope that the stalemate would be resolved as soonest as possible.

Surprisingly some public university lecturers are going on with business as usual especially in the satellite campuses.

What is frustrating is that lecturers participating in the strike are forcefully evicting their fellow lecturers from class.

This is a complete insult to the students who have paid their fees, it is improper and it sends the wrong message to the students who look upon their professors and lecturers as their role models. It portrays a people who lack the right morals and proper culture.

The students should not sit and watch but they should speak up because only then would a difference be made.

Furthermore, the students outnumber the lectures by way far. It is up for citizens of this country to stand up and salvage the little of sanity that is left in our society otherwise the country that we are so proud of will crumble right before our very own eyes.
