Opposition’s conduct has ruined its chances of forming next government

The disruption witnessed in Parliament during the State of the Nation address must be condemned in the strongest terms possible.

The State of the Nation address was not a Jubilee function but a national function that must be respected by all regardless of one's political affiliation. It's high time we differentiated national functions and political party differences.

This disruption by Opposition MPs has not gone down well with Kenyans, who are now fed up with this toxic politics that ends up polarising the country.

More importantly, this whistling in Parliament has done more harm to the Opposition than good. It actually confirms beyond any reasonable doubt that the Opposition is unfortunately clueless and tactless.

The MPs' despicable action in Parliament was just but a national disgrace and shame to a majority of Kenyans who had high hopes in the Opposition as the government-in-waiting.

Such behaviour should be discouraged and totally condemned by all. Let these Opposition MPs be informed that using such obsolete guerilla tactics and raising frivolous points of orders will not help them in any way.

Opposition chief Raila Odinga should apologise to Kenyans on behalf of the Opposition for this unorthodox behaviour by some CORD MPs, instead of supporting them.
