The fight by most religious leaders in the country against the new religious rules published by the Attorney General, shows our leaders are not ready to be held accountable by their flock.

The rules are aimed at weeding out those who want to commercialise churches and stop mosques from being used as breeding grounds for terrorists. It will also ensure security in churches and enable citizens to enjoy their freedom of worship.

There is need for those fighting the proposed rules to think again and support the Government's move to regulate the sector.
