Sleek designed OPPO A71 Smartphone launched in Kenyan market

Oppo A71 Smartphone was launched in the Kenyan market in the backdrop of a report by Jumia Business Intelligence and GSMA Mobile on trends from the Kenyan Smartphone and E-Commerce Industry, showing that Smartphone penetration in Kenya has grown to more than 60 per cent of the population over the past five years.

The latest GSMA Mobile, titled a White Paper 2017, points to a situation attributed to the increase in availability of the affordable smart devices from various device manufacturers in the industry.

The latest smart gadget in town, 4G enabled Oppo A71, will be available exclusively in Safaricom outlets in the next two weeks.

Brand Director of Oppo, Kenya Jesse Wu, said they have launched a high quality device- a product they are keen on using to strengthen connection with end users in a bid to meet demands of 4G internet and better user experience.

"Kenya is a low end kind of phone market hence customers are suffering with low quality phones. Most people are searching for high standards at an affordable price. That's why we came up with a well-researched feature phone; just the way you like it. We aim to offer more options of smartphones with high quality Standard and comprehensive functionality to fulfil the rising demands." Mr Wu explained.

The exclusive partnership allows Safaricom Limited to stock the unique and trendy design believed to be a new mid-tier 4G premium device.

The smart gadget with enhanced features that guarantees high performance in photography and interactivity, wowed participants at the Launch in Nairobi's Central Business District, Friday.

The Phone runs on the latest and rich function Colour OS 3.1 based on the latest android 7.1 operating system that combines speed, efficiency and stability to bring pixels to life.

Oppo A71 features 3GB RAM, an 8-Core CPU that enables smooth and speedy operations. The device has an expandable memory of up to 32GB Storage.

The Launch of Oppo A71 is set to increase smartphone penetration thus fast tracking Safaricom's vision to drive digital inclusion in the country.

The Partnership signals a commitment by Telco to bring customers to a range of smart devices that allow them enjoy 3G and 4G networks.

"We are excited about the deal with Oppo as it allows our customers stay connected to high speeds and quality audio-visual devices," said Elizabeth Wasunna, Safaricom Head of Retail Channels.

The phone has 13 MP, an F2.2 rear camera, a 5MP selfie camera with 6 beautify levels, 8 real time filters, water mark, palm shutter, bokeh effect and 50 MP Ultra HD mode.
