Global Watch, a local security firm has set up a shop in Nairobi’s Karen area to remotely monitor activities around premises, and other areas assigned to coordinate any suspicious activity. The centre is equipped with monitors linked to the fiber optic cables manned by experts. “When we sign a contract with a customer, we take care of security matters, this is done remotely through our center located in Karen,” says Dr Hooria Chisti, managing director, Global Watch.
“The centre has modern technologies that we link to one’s existing security apparatus such as the closed circuit television, we are capable of detecting any suspicious activity and respond immediately through our partners,” she says.
The firm has signed a deal with security agents including the police, hospitals, and rescue companies offering ambulance services to respond to any eventuality detected.
The centre will handle pre-determined event-driven security threats from managed sites. It will also provide initial reaction to a range of alerts generated from security systems including but not limited to remote video monitoring, access control systems and intruder alerm systems. Others are fire alarm systems, GPS vehicle tracking, and protection of high value objects to complement the State’s recent Sh11 billion CCTV project.
