Samsung Androids on offer with Safaricom data bundles

By FREDRICK OBURASafaricom, in conjunction with Samsung Electronics and telecommunication devices retailer FoneXpress have announced a joint sales promotion to provide Samsung Android tablet devices at the most affordable cost.In the ongoing joint programme, Samsung Galaxy Tab devices powered by the Android Operating System, will be available for sale at FoneXpress outlets at the Westgate Mall, Sarit Centre and Yaya Centre up to March 13.Globally, the Samsung Galaxy Tab has already hit the 2-million sales mark while the Galaxy S Handset has already broken its earlier forecasted sales records and is now the first android operating system-powered mobile handset to surpass the 10 million sales mark.In Kenya, customers purchasing the devices will receive free network data bundles and free Samsung Galaxy S accessories for every purchase of the Samsung Galaxy Tab device.Speaking at the launch of the joint promotion, Samsung Electronics Regional Business Leader, Mr Robert Ngeru said the new sales offer had been unveiled and rolled out as part of the firm’s commitment to grow the local information technology communication sector through the provision of quality devices."At Samsung, we are committed to providing quality Internet-ready devices for local as well as regional market as part of our contribution to Internet penetration goals which have a tremendous impact on economic growth," Ngeru said.Portable deviceThe Samsung Galaxy Tab is a small, portable and lightweight Google-android operating system device featuring a large 7" screen.
