Long serving KNA journalist dies after battle with cancer

The county information officer, John Saina, has died after battling colon cancer.

The veteran journalist, aged 52, died on Friday. He has left behind a widow, four children and two grandchildren.

Journalists and friends in West Pokot and Trans Nzoia counties have eulogised Saina as a down-to-earth man.

West Pokot County Police Commandant Jackson Tumwet, who was his close ally, said he was shocked to lose such a friend.

Joseph Kintu, chairman of the West Pokot Journalists Association said Saina has left behind a big gap in journalism in the county.

He mentored a good number of journalists. “He was our father. My deepest condolences,” he said.
