Architects sue Kidero over City Hall refurbishment debt

A company that refurbished City Hall after a fire razed a part of the building in 2004 has sued Governor Evans Kidero and finance manager Luke Gatimu for refusing to settle the Sh24 million bill.

Ngibuini and Associates Consulting Architects, who were contracted in 2005 by the defunct City Council of Nairobi to carry out the work, filed a claim in 2011 and High Court judge Francis Gikonyo ruled in their favour.

“We have served them with all necessary court documents but they are not acting,” said Gikandi Ngibuini, the company’s lawyer. “They continue to frustrate our efforts to get what we deserve for the work we did.”
