Kisii, Kenya: The Coalition for Reforms and Democracy has suffered another setback in Bomachoge Borabu after a senior party official backed a rival party candidate ahead of the by-election.

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Bomachoge Borabu’s organising secretary Methusellah Sereti announced the decision during a meeting at Kenyenya at the weekend.

Sereti whose company Monad Agencies was contracted to build the Sh30 million Kenyenya District headquarters, now stalled, accused ODM leaders in Kisii County of failing to ensure the full project sum was paid.

“I will not be supporting the ODM candidate for this by-election and will instead back The National Alliance’s  candidate,” said Sereti who accused ODM leaders of not helping him get the pending contract monies.
