Kwale, Kenya: CORD MPs have accused the Government of mishandling Truth, Justice and Reconciliation Commission (TJRC) report.

The leaders, who were attending a homecoming party of Kwale Woman Representative Zainab Chidzuga at the weekend, said the Government has ignored the TJRC report.

They noted that the Government was not keen on implementing the report due to its findings, which touch on key leaders.

The leaders also faulted Jubilee leaders of raising false hopes over the laptop project at the expense of more urgent social programmes. They described the laptops project as a scandal in waiting.

“The money that is going to buy laptops is so much that it can build hundreds of schools and employ more teachers. What will a Class One pupil do with a laptop? If it is business the Jubilee government wants to do with pupils, we will oppose that,” said CORD leader and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula.

“I urge CORD MPs not to join into Jubilee’s allies and frustrate devolution,” said Wetang’ula.

“We have to make sure that we unite so that the massive mineral deposits found here like rare earths are not stolen,” said Wetang’ula.
