More private firms, partners join the war against disease

Several stakeholders have come up to help counties manage coronavirus pandemic by donating equipment to bolster efforts already put in place.

Yesterday, three counties benefited from hand-sanitisers, surgical equipment, masks and other protective gear from various private entities.

Kibos Sugar Company Limited donated 3,000 litres of hand-sanitisers worth Sh10 million to Kisii County Government.

The sanitisers will be evenly distributed to various vulnerable groups, including Boda Boda operators, traders and members of the public.

Lake Victoria Water Works Development Agency (LVWDA) has partnered with the county government to install water tanks across the streets of Kisii town and its environs to facilitate regular hand washing among residents.

In Kisumu, the Catholic church donated several hand-sanitisers, soaps, surgical masks and also promised to train some 700 health workers to help in the fight a.

The Catholic Relief Services also announced that it has already completed the training of some 3,500 health workers in Nairobi too.

Homa Bay county government has launched a Covid-19 emergency response fund and donated Sh2 million. 

The county is also distributing free sanitisers to boda boda operators.
