Fast growing low cost carrier, Silverstone Air is finally debuting on the Eldoret route with two daily flights effective May 31, 2019.

Speaking to The Standard, Silverstone Air Sales Manager Patrick Oketch said that they will start flights to Eldoret International Airport from its Wilson Airport hub with the first flight departing at 0715hrs and arriving at Eldoret Airport at 0800hrs.

The return flight from Eldoret will be from 0830hrs and arriving at Wilson Airport at 1045hrs.

''We are deploying a modern Dash 8 -300 aircraft. The connection will be ideal for passengers travelling out of Mombasa to Eldoret and vice versa as they will be able, for example, to use the early Mombasa flight to Nairobi before connecting onto the Eldoret flight,'' Oketch said.

It is expected that the entry of Silverstone Air onto the Eldoret route will lead to competition along the North Rift route that is currently served by Jambojet, Kenya Airways, Fly 540, Safarilink and other carriers.

Silverstone Air made its debut entry into the Kenyan skies in 2017.

Oketch announced that effective June 6, 2019, they will launch flights to Wajir using a 37-seater airplane.

Last year in April, the airline increased frequencies on the Nairobi-Kisumu route to 17 trips per week, up from 14, while passengers travelling to Mombasa from Kisumu are now served by three weekly flights, an increase from two.

It also flies to Malindi, Lamu and Ukunda and also makes frequent travels to the Maasai Mara National Park.

The carrier’s passenger flights target tourists from the Western and Coastal regions charging between Sh4,500 and Sh10,000 for a one-way ticket between Kisumu and Mombasa which is the only route to be served directly by an airline.
Silverstone Air recently signaled the introduction of scheduled flights to neighbouring countries after getting the greenlight to operate beyond Kenyan borders.

The budget carrier said it would introduce flights to Juba, South Sudan and Mwanza, Tanzania in what would be its first venture outside the country.
