Woman Representative Jane Wanjuki has dismissed claims that her office is demanding Sh500 from local farmers to give them avocado seedlings.

Speaking when she attended a service at Victory Manifestation Christian Celebration Centre in Embu West, the MP said she was a victim of cyber bulling and online attacks from detractors intent on sabotaging the programme.

She has been under pressure from residents following reports on social media that she was charging farmers for seedlings distributed by the national government free of charge.

“The seedling distribution programme has been going on very well. We have issued seedlings in Manyatta and Runyenjes Constituency and will now move to Mbeere North and South. However, some demon-possessed people have been fighting it, claiming I’m charging money. That’s not true,” she said.

Individuals on social media sites populated by the county’s residents have been claiming that they were required to pay Sh500 registration fee to receive the seedlings.
