Condolence message from dusitD2 hotel management

DusitD2 hotel complex located in Westlands, Nairobi was introduced in Kenya in the year 2015.

The hotel, also known as Boutique hotel, due to its intriguing spaces that balance a modern yet timeless aesthetic in an intimate setting with definition of ‘contemporary chic’ and array of bars and restaurants, attracts local and international clients.

This upscale hotel, frequented by the middle and upper class individuals is approximately 2 km from National Museums of Kenya and 3 km from the State House.

After the attack that saw scores of people injured and 14 confirmed dead, the hotel management has sent its condolence messages to the affected families and clients.

The statement reads, “The management and staff of Dusit Hotels & Resorts is devastated at the incident which took place at the Dusit hotel complex in Nairobi on 15 January at about 16:00 local time (13:00 GMT).

We are extremely saddened by this act of violence and would like to extend our deepest sympathies to all those affected. Our highest concern is the safety and well-being of our guests and employees, and we are providing every support we can. The Royal Thai Embassy, Nairobi, Kenya has confirmed that all Thai staff are safe.

The local authorities have taken control of the complex and are dealing with the situation. We are in constant contact with the authorities and would like to thank them for their swift response.

Our guests and upcoming reservations are being relocated to other hotels in the city, and the hotel is closed until further notice.”
