Nissan boss arrest part of 'internal revolt'

Carlos Ghosn, chairman and CEO of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance

The daughter of Nissan former chairman Carlos Ghosn, indicted on suspicion of violating Japan’s financial reporting laws, believe the accusations are part of an internal revolt to prevent a merger with Renault, the New York Times reports.

Caroline Ghosn said when she saw Nissan CEO Hiroto Saikawa on television condemning her father, she suspected that the investigation had been started over opposition to the tie up that her father was trying to arrange.
