Postbank in drive to encourage savings, promote growth

NAIROBI, KENYA: Postbank customers stand to win prizes in a deposit mobilization drive dubbed “Imarika na Postbank” aimed at rewarding them for their loyalty, encouraging savings and growing the bank’s customer base which currently stands at 1.4 million.

The three-month promotion commenced on May 30 and will end on August 28. The overall winner will take home a grand prize of Sh 1 million while other lucky winners will take home prizes ranging from TV Sets mobile phones, Gas cookers, home theatre systems, laptops, fridges and motor bikes.

The Bank appreciates the importance of promoting domestic savings to sustain the fast economic growth that the country continues to experience. Postbank has continued to introduce various savings instruments in an effort to meet the needs of different target groups that include youth, business men, children, salary payments and retirees. These efforts are steered towards instilling a savings culture among Kenyans.

Postbank boasts of 104 Branches in 43 counties, over 1,100 Postbank Mashinani outlets and over 1,436 ATMs (Postbank, Kenswitch and Pesa point) countrywide that concentrate their efforts on providing exceptional banking experience. This expansion is intended to generate large social benefits, by promoting greater financial inclusion. Postbank’s expedient agency banking model also allows customers from other Banks to make cash deposits and withdrawals, access mini statements and balance inquiries at any of the 104 Postbank branches.

With a network of 104 branches and over 1,100 Postbank Mashinani agents across the country, Postbank offers diverse affordable products that include the Smata savings account for children, the STEP account for the youth, Bidii Savings, Pamoja Savings, SAYE for the employed and self-employed, Premium savings and Premium Plus for corporate and high net worth customers. Other services offered include local and International Money Transfer services (Western Union, MoneyGram, RIA, M-Pesa) Visa Credit card (Local and International), payment, bill payment (KPLC and water bill payment). Interest for all savings products is tax free.

The Imarika na Postbank three month draw promotion is open to all Kenyans, existing and new customers. New customers will need to open an account with the bank and grow their balance to Ksh. 5,000 to qualify for the promotion. Existing customers need to top up their accounts by at least 5,000. Both existing and new customers need to maintain that balance for the entire promotion period and keep depositing for higher chances to win.
