KRA opens iTax support centre in Bungoma

Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has launched an iTax support centre in Bungoma town to improve efficiency in service delivery in the area.

KRA Commissioner Benson Korongo and board director Evans Kakai said the centre will help residents to file their returns on time and avoid future penalties. Speaking in Bungoma town, Korongo said the opening of the iTax support centre, will make it easier for their clients to file returns on time.

“We want our customer to be tax-compliant and pay their taxes on time and in a convenient way to avoid penalties associated with late filing,” he said.

 On his part, Kakai said, “We developed this iTax services to make it simple for Kenyans to interact with Kenya Revenue Authority,” said Kakai. He said KRA has launched 21 iTax support centres countrywide and are working with 38 commercial banks and 37 Huduma centres in reaching out to their customers.

Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka called on area residents to pay taxes on time. “I’m calling on all Kenyans of goodwill to support the Government by paying taxes on time, this is the only way we will benefit as the county government,” said Lusaka.
