Netfund Awards to be unveiled next week

The National Environment Trust Fund (Netfund) has announced that 2016 winners of its innovation awards (GIA) who will be unveiled on May 19 at a gala and expo to be held at the KICC in Nairobi.
The awards provide a platform for entrepreneurs to showcase their new innovations that must be eco-friendly. The entrepreneurs get a chance to attract investors, as well as benefit from technical support from Netfund.
This year’s awards concentrate on waste management, agribusiness, water and energy. The innovations must have the capacity to be commercialised.
There are a total of 13 finalists, and the winner will take home Sh2 million as a grant to upscale their initiative, and a further Sh5 million as technical support for their business.
