Nairobi Securities Exchange turnover in marginal drop

The Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) market turnover stood at Sh346 million yesterday, compared to the previous day's trading that stood at Sh485 million. Equity Bank, Safaricom, KCB, Coop Bank and Diamond Trust Kenya accounted for 84 per cent of yesterday's total turnover. A total of 15.1 million shares were traded compared to 16.3 million shares the previous day. The most traded counters were Equity Bank, Safaricom, Home Afrika, Kenya Airways and Mumias Sugar, moving 4.3 million, 3.6 million, 1.7 million, one million and 0.88 million shares respectively. The NSE 20 Share Index was down 0.21 per cent to close at 3,901.45. The All share Index (NASI) was up 0.31 per cent to close at 145.23. Foreign participation stood at 63 per cent, while local participation stood at 37 per cent.
