The China Trade Week expo has opened in Nairobi with over 150 Chinese companies showcasing their products and services across various commercial sectors to local entrepreneurs and the region's business community.

The three-day exhibition organised by MIE Events in partnership with Kenya Investment Authority, Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Kenya Private Sector Alliance, is the first comprehensive China-focused trade event to be hosted in Kenya and the East Africa region.

KenInvest acting Investment Promotion and Business Development Services General Manager Pius Rotich said the China Trade Week will open more investment opportunities for local entrepreneurs and Small and Medium Enterprises in Kenya and across East Africa.

MIE Events Managing Director David Wang said China has enjoyed a long-standing economic and trading relationship with Kenya with over 15 per cent of all of the country's imports coming from China.

The exhibition brings together Chinese companies across various industry sectors including building and construction, consumer electronics and electric vehicles.
