You may be experiencing difficulty in the purchase of electricity tokens and payment of bills.

This is due to a system hitch, the Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has said.

In a statement on Friday, May 26, KPLC notified its customers of the challenge caused by a ‘system hitch’.

“We are experiencing a system hitch which is affecting us. Our ICT team Is working to resolve the issue as soon as possible,” KPLC said.

The power company has apologised to its customers for the inconvenience likely to be caused by the hitch.

KPLC had earlier in the day announced power interruption in Nairobi, Kiambu, Makueni, and Kakamega counties.

Last week, the company also notified of a power outage in several parts of the country including Nairobi, North Rift, and Western regions due to a system disturbance.
