The late Moses Omusolo. He was found dead along Kangundo Road on Wednesday, December 21, 2022.

Police in Nairobi are investigating the death of Standard Group journalist Moses Omusolo.

The body of the Business writer was found inside an open trench along Kangundo Road in Kayole on Wednesday night.

Omusolo had suffered a cut on the head, according to the police. All his personal effects including his mobile phone and identification documents were found intact.

Kayole DCI has since taken over the investigations.

Investigators say the scene of the attack was within Omusolo's neighbourhood, giving an indication that he could have been heading home when he was attacked.

The deceased was planning for his wedding in the coming months.

Police are now following the journalist's last moments to unravel the mystery behind his death. Detectives from the Nairobi area Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau visited the scene in effort to find CCTV footage that may help solve the murder.

The investigators have also summoned the last people who were in communication with the journalist to establish what may have transpired.

"We are on top of the issue. We just need time to find out what really happened," said Kayole DCI boss Jackson Owino.
