Sirisia Mp John Waluke has been released on a Sh10 million bail by the Court of Appeal pending the hearing of his appeal of 67 years jail term or a Sh2 billion fine handed out by the Anti-Corruption over the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) scandal.

He was granted an alternative of Sh20 million with surety.

Waluke alongside Grace Wakhungu was convicted by the Anti-Corruption court for defrauding the NCPB Sh300 million.

Following their conviction, the two moved to the High Court to challenge the decision which was upheld by the court on October 6.

In their submission in court, the defence team led by Elisha Ongoya and Rarieda MP Otiende Omollo told Court of Appeal Judges Sankale Ole Kantai, Asike Makhandia and Grace Ngenye that their client who was the director of Erad Suppliers Limited was paid lawfully for services rendered to NCPB.
