Trend-conscious Busia man updates to coffin number three

An 87-year-old man from Okatekok Ward in Busia County has shocked many by preparing for his burial which has entailed buying a coffin. Alloise Otieng' Omina Ng'ombe has bought a Sh58,000-casket and stored it in his shop at Obekai market. The father of 18 children had bought two other coffins between 2009 and 2019 but has bought a third to keep stay in step with “fashion”. Why go to such lengths? Because he doesn’t like the hypocritical generosity seen when people bury a person who was ever in rags in expensive suits or slaughter bulls for him when it is clear he cannot enjoy the meat.
