ISIS claims it 'could buy first nuclear weapon in less than 12 months'

ISIS claims it could buy its first nuclear weapon within a year.

The terror group claims it could purchase the devastating weapon from Pakistan within less than 12 months.

The claim was made in the group's propaganda magazine Dabiq.

An article in the latest issue says ISIS is expanding so rapidly it could afford to purchase the highly expensive weapon.

Sickeningly the group attributes the article - entitled 'The Perfect Storm' - to British hostage John Cantlie.

It claims ISIS has transcended its status as “the most explosive Islamic ‘group’ in the modern world” to become “the most explosive Islamic movement the modern world has ever seen,” the Independent reports.

Mr Cantlie, a photojournalist has appeared in a number of propaganda videos made by the terror group.

This includes , including a YouTube series called "Lend Me Your Ears".

He has been held a hostage by Isis for more than two years.

The most recent piece in Dabiq claims Islamist group like Boko Haram joining with ISIS in a global movement.

The article claims militants have seized “tanks, rocket launchers, missile systems, anti-aircraft systems,” during their insurgent campaigns.

It then turns to the subject of getting hold of more terrifying weapons, like nuclear missiles.

“Let me throw a hypothetical operation onto the table,” the article says, “the Islamic State has billions of dollars in the bank, so they call on their wil?yah in Pakistan to purchase a nuclear device through weapons dealers with links to corrupt officials in the region."

Despite the claims, the article admits getting hold of nuclear weapons is 'far fetched' - but that it is more probable today than a year ago.

"And if not a nuke," it says, "what about a few thousand tons of ammonium nitrate explosive? That’s easy enough to make."

ISIS fighters have shocked the world with their campaign of terror in the middle east - most recently taking the ancient Syrian town of Ramadi.
