Combining Victorian and contemporary styles to bring out a unified masterpiece is not easy. Yet the Norfolk Hotel has pulled it off. The result is an inviting feel and visual feast.

The bar is a rich interplay of colours. Inspired by contemporary fashion and modern furniture design, trendy chocolates, reds and tans have been blended and accessorised to enhance contrasting schemes. Rich, warm, brown hues bring out the full character of its distinctive strong grain, breathing life into the interior.

To add to the already generous colour mix, plants have been strategically placed in the bar area to add a little green. Long mirrors have been used to create an illusion of never ending space at the corner of the bar.

When it comes to furniture, the area has employed modern designs, which are maroon and brown in colour. The furniture that stands out, though, is the high table and high seats at the centre of the bar.

On top of the high table is a fascinating lighting system. The different designs and shapes of lamps are fanciful and classy. The lighting adds to the visual effects and the ambience.

The lounge ushers in a Victorian dÈcor theme and a journey back in time. Everything from the colour scheme to the furniture design is classical.

Captivating

Outside the bar area is a sitting area that is bold and daring in its contemporary theme. It has impressively mixed maroons, greens and grey to create a very captivating modern abode.

The garden area offers continuity. It is divided into different components, each with a different centrepiece. The centrepieces are all vintage ranging from a baggy to a tractor.

The Victorian look flows into the bedrooms. The walls are crËme but the furniture and accessories take on different shades of browns. All in all it is a statement of clean elegance.

It holds a natural grain that feels warm and rustic in traditional settings, while in more contemporary spaces they provide texture and evoke an organic feel.
