Building Materials expo

Real Estate

This week, the second Kenya Building Materials Expo is being held at the KICC. It is expected that the event will boost the already thriving construction sector. Organised by the Turkel Fair organisation, the expo brings together exhibitors from Kenya and other countries like Turkey, Egypt, Italy, Japan, South Africa and United Arab Emirates, all of whom are exhibiting their various products and services tailored for the sector.

Stakeholders praise the expo as an ideal networking opportunity with exhibitors from various fields including manufacturers, exporters and real estate stakeholders among others present.

The construction sector has continued to be one of the best performing sectors in the local economy recording growth year after year. In particular, the real estate sub-sector has gained root as a conducive area for investment with guaranteed returns and a growing catalogue of products tailor-made for the market by financial institutions.

With multi-billion developments coming up, the latest of which is the proposed Tatu City expected to cost about Sh200 billion to put up, the growth of the sector is expected to be sustained. The first edition of Kenya Building Materials Exhibition was held in December last year.
