Gor Mahia chairman Ambrose Rachier today held a meeting with SportPesa to table the club’s request for them not to withdraw their sponsorship.

Rachier anchored his request on what’s at hand and the huge assignments the club is having in store which will require good money to go about.

“I have today held a meeting with SportPesa to plead with them not to withdraw their sponsorship at least to Gor Mahia, having regard to the forthcoming CAF Champions League campaign in February as well as the league duties,” stated a press release was released to the club’s website.

Making his request more solid, the chairman cited the importance of season’s preparations to the sponsors and the need to pay players and staff.

“I cited the importance of pre-season training and the need to pay salaries for December 2017 to the players and staff as well as to pay sign-on fees for new players,” he added.

With positive hopes, the chairman assured all stakeholders to be patient as their request was received well and the outcome will be known soonest.

“Our request is receiving attention. I therefore request our stakeholders to be patient as we await the outcome possibly tomorrow.”

With a huge monthly wage bill of salaries, allowances, travels and match preparations, it will be a sigh of relief to the club and stakeholders if SportPesa re-consider their stand of pulling out.
