Former football giants AFC Leopards may be forced to part ways with their celebrated coach Zdravko Logaruši? sooner than we may have expected, it has emerged. The Croatian tactician has only served one month of his one year contract at Ingwe but details are emerging the two parties may be forced to part ways soon.
“We hired Logaruši? in preparation for topflight football,” says AFC Leopards Assistant Secretary General Professor Asava Kadima, “unfortunately there’s a stalemate in the management and running of the league in Kenya. Personally I think we’ll soon have to make a decision on whether we still need to keep a top coach of his status for mere friendly matches.”
This comes in the wake of hard line stands being taken by the two football bodies Football Kenya Fedeartion and Kenya Premier League that are embroiled in management bouts currently being discussed in court. If the current situation drags on for a while the cash strapped AFC Leopards as well as other clubs may be forced to start thinking of making hard decisions to put everything under check.
The stalemate is being felt by nobody more than the players some of whose competitive https://cdn.standardmedia.co.ke/images are being dented by the day. “Some of our players like Martin Kiiza, Musa Mudde and a host of others are national team players back in their countries,” adds Kadima, “If you don’t subject them to competitive football the next thing you expect is their agents’ plans to withdraw them. But all this will be done, if at all we get to that situation, in a very amicable manner.”
