If you’re like most couples that think photos have to be taken on the day of the wedding, then you are so wrong.

If anything, havingthe photo session on a separate day will save you time on the wedding day, eliminate pressure on you and the bridal party, your make-up will look better amongst tons of other benefits. Here is how you to about it.

• You can choose to have the photo session a day before or after the wedding. For those brides who may not want the groom to see the gown, have it the next day.

• Since there is time, consider choosing a location that has lots of scenery for the outdoors or props for an indoor venue.

• Bring along your makeup artist if possible for touch ups throughout the day. Use this to your advantage especially if you will change into other outfits such as an evening wear.

• Should you be having the photo session on the wedding day, consider these factors when choosing a location. The cost, and proximity to the wedding reception venue.

•  Have some pre-packed snacks for the session or make arrangements for refreshments. By that time, you will all be hungry and the last thing you need is someone telling you to smile on an empty stomach.

• If you’re having your photo session on the wedding day, consider keeping it short for the guest’s sake. Have them entertained and served with cocktails as they wait for you to return and dine together.

•  Confirm whether there will be another client or couple using the venue. If so, this will help you work out the timings so you don’t clash.

•  Do ask what the venue comes with and what is covered in the price.

•  Keep in mind the weather, which may affect the lighting for an outdoor setting.
